#Sports# Ilori, Sakho Set For Liverpool Switch.

Liverpool wants to sign defenders Mamadou Sakho and Tiago Ilori from Paris St-Germain and Sporting Lisbon respectively.

The Anfield club is in talks with both clubs on a possible agreement over the weekend as Sakho, 23, and Ilori, 20, are expected on Merseyside for medicals in the next 24 hours.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his defense which has been blighted by some injury worries, most recently 32-year-old Kolo Toure who was carried off on a stretcher with a groin problem against Nottingham County in the midweek Capital One Cup tie.

With Aly Cissokho and Sebastian Coates both sidelined with long-term injuries, the arrival of Sakho, who can also play in the central defence or on the left and Ilori, the son of an English man of Nigerian descent will further help strengthen the backline.

Ilori is set to sign a five-year deal worth £8m after expressing his desire to play for Rogers’ side, turning down interests from Valencia and rejecting Monaco’s bid.
