Shakhtar Playmaker, Mkhitaryan, Joins Dortmund.

The player was Ukraine top flight highest goal scorer last season with 25 goals in 29 league outings.

Borussia Dortmund’s general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke said: “It was not an easy transfer, but we really wanted to have Henrick- and now we have him.”

The player, who was a target for Liverpool, joined Shakhtar in 2010 from Metalurh Donetsk and went on to score 38 goals in 72 league appearances.

After losing Champions League final and playmaker Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich, the Armenian attacking midfielder will remain at Westfalenstadion, in a move that could prove vital to Dortmund’s title challenge next season.

Mkhitaryan began his career at Pyunik in his home country and scored 30 goals in 70 league appearances. He has made 39 appearances for Armenia scoring 39 times.
