Overview

Californian born Gwen Stefani's big break came in 1989, when Stefani was asked to be the vocalist in rock-ska band No Doubt. Shortly after, the band signed a recording contract and released a self-titled debut album in 1991. The band would release another two albums; their third “Tragic Kingdom” (1995) making international waves and selling over 16 million copies worldwide. Following the band's success, Stefani launched her solo career in 2004 with the successful release of her debut album “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” 

But asides from her musical career, Stefani has a strong interest fashion. This may come partially from the fact that many women in her family were dressmakers, and as a young child Stefani's mother used to make most of her clothes. For her onstage debut, Stefani wore a self-made tweed dress.
